Dirham (Silver, 31.1 mm, 1.81 g).

Obv: Kufic inscription لا إله إلا / الله وحده / لا شريك له（“只有真主，真主独一，无任何伙伴。”）Inner marginal inscription names the mint and date; outer margin bears Qur’an 30:4–5.
Rev: Rev: Kufic inscription لله / محمد / رسول / الله / المعتز بالله（“真主之下。穆罕默德是安拉的使者。al-Mu‘tazz billah”）；周围为《古兰经》9:33，宣告穆罕默德的使命与真理的宗教。

Proclaimed caliph at Samarra in 865, al-Mu‘tazz secured sole rule after al-Musta‘in’s abdication in 866. He sought to restore caliphal authority amid intense rivalry between military commanders and court factions. Financial difficulties undermined his position, leaving him unable to satisfy his troops. Deposed in 869, he died shortly afterwards, another victim of the “Anarchy at Samarra.”
