Item Description A set of two Japanese decorative accessories. A cloisonné pen tray featuring a pair of cranes, and a black lacquer trinket box adorned with a gold leaf motif. The pen tray is a long, narrow rectangle with a wave pattern rendered in relief against a gold ground. Two cranes depicted in white, black, and red enamel soar across its surface. The crane is a traditional Japanese symbol of longevity and good fortune. The pen tray comes with its original box. The trinket box has a deep, lustrous black lacquer finish, with a scattering of gold leafy-branch motifs on the lid and sides. The lid is of slip-on style, and the sides curve gently outward. The interior is also a glossy black. An elegant pairing that would complement a desk, entryway, or display shelf beautifully.
