Vintage Borciani Italy Silver-Plated Silent Butler / Table Crumb Collector (Often called Food Carrier)

Description

An elegant mid-century Italian Silent Butler (historically utilized tableside as a crumb receiver or ash collector), masterfully crafted by the renowned artisan maker Borciani.

The piece exhibits exceptional metalwork details, highlighted by a heavily fluted and gadrooned dome lid. It features an integrated thumb-trigger spring hinge mechanism that opens seamlessly.

The handle is composed of a finely turned, deep-toned natural dark hardwood.

The reverse base features clear, crisp stamping confirming its authentic pedigree: the Borciani Crown "B" insignia, "SHEFFIELD BORCIANI ITALY", and "LAVORATO A MANO" (Handmade).

• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The silver plating maintains a brilliant, highly reflective luster with a beautiful warm patina. Faint, negligible surface micro-scuffs from minimal handling. The interior and wooden handle are pristine.
