Item Description Two porcelain bottle vases with long slender necks by 藤井朱明 Fujii Shumei, each decorated with a mountain landscape. The larger vase has a teardrop body painted in graduated shades of blue. Snow-capped peaks rise above dense conifer forest, and fine horizontal bands suggest sky around the white shoulder. The smaller vase has an egg-shaped body in softer grey, blue and pale yellow tones, with a misty forest scene and a small gold disc representing the sun or moon. Both vases have a glossy glaze and a clean white neck. An incised signature is visible on the base of the larger vase. Fujii's work is notable for finely detailed, atmospheric landscape painting on porcelain.
