An Art Nouveau sweetmeat stand produced by the German manufacturer Albert Mayer, documented in the company's catalogue from 1906, and retaining its model number 169 impressed on the base alongside the maker's signature. The piece is formed in silver-plated brass and features a central standing female figure in flowing dress that serves as the decorative handle and focal point, flanked by two leaf-shaped serving spoons characteristic of Jugendstil organic ornament. At 34.5 cm wide and 21.5 cm tall and weighing 822 grams, this is a substantial table centrepiece in the German Art Nouveau factory tradition of integrating figural sculpture with functional tableware. Condition is Very Good overall: the piece is structurally sound with no visible cracks, breaks, missing elements, or evidence of repairs or restoration; however, the piece carries accumulated patina and surface tarnish consistent with its age and requires cleaning, and the silver plating shows age-related wear in areas of contact and handling, all of which is visible in the photographs.
