Very rare and beautiful matching pair of WWI (1914-1918) Trench Art vases, crafted from authentic French 75mm De Campagne artillery shell casings.
This specular and commemorative set features highly detailed embossed decorations of grapevines and grapes, dedicated to famous Western Front locations: one shell is engraved with "CHAMPAGNE" and the other with "REIMS".
The headstamps on the bottom are clearly visible: one shell proudly features the American wartime contract branding Remington U.M.C. dated 1916, while the other shows French military arsenal markings. Excellent vintage condition with a gorgeous, uncleaned original brass patina. A top-tier addition for military and Great War collectors.
