Title: Loewe Madrid–Barcelona stamp collector's case, c. 1950s–60s, leather with original philatelic tools

Description:
Philatelist's case by Loewe, gold-stamped "Loewe Madrid – Barcelona" inside the lid and on the rim. The script mark predates the 1970 anagram, which points to the 1950s or early 1960s.

We have not been able to locate any comparable piece on the market: neither on specialist platforms nor among antique dealers have we found another Loewe philatelic case with this equipment. An uncommon opportunity for collectors.

The exterior is cognac grained leather with a brass "M" plaque. The interior is red grained leather with peach moiré silk lining and green velvet compartments. It has brass hardware and a lock with its original key. The lid carries a gilt postal motif with a Spanish 5 cts Calderón de la Barca stamp.

It keeps its original equipment:

• Philos perforation gauge, scale 7 to 16½.
• Tweezers.
• Black watermark tray.
• Two glass dishes with lids.
• Two leather wallets with snap closures.
• A hidden drawer with stamp hinges.

An uncommon piece that appeals to both Loewe and philately collectors.

Condition: good for its age, with light wear to the leather and hardware.
