Mask - 日本砥部烧能面 (没有保留价)
A traditional Noh mask made by renowned artist Yoshito, crafted in the Shikoku-Ehime region of Japan. Original wooden box included.
Background: The Komen (small mask) is the most representative Noh mask, used to depict young girls with a mysterious expression, a look that is both smiling and sorrowful – a quintessential example of Japanese aesthetics. Tobe ware is a nationally designated traditional craft of Ehime Prefecture, boasting over 200 years of history.
Approximately 18cm high and 14cm wide, made of ceramic, with red hanging cords on both sides for direct hanging decoration.
Condition: Original box and paulownia wood box with a handwritten inscription reading "Tobe Ware Komen, Yoshito's Work," accompanied by a Tobe Ware Museum brochure. The glaze is intact, with only slight peeling on the inner edges due to age, a normal phenomenon from refurbishment and does not affect the viewing experience from the front.
Suitable for Japanese restaurants, izakayas, tea rooms, and other Japanese-style spaces; ideal for Japanese antique art and Noh mask collecting.
