Collector’s Item: Vintage Table Lighter with a Telescopic Gravity-Fed Mechanism For sale is an exceptional vintage table lighter (dating from the 1950s–1960s)—a classic Vestale / Mylflam-style model—crafted from heavy, silver-plated (or nickel-plated) metal and adorned with delicate engravings. The highlight of this piece is its ingenious gravity-fed ignition mechanism (telescopic style): the lighter remains closed and protected while resting on a table; when lifted, the inner body automatically slides upward under its own weight, engaging the flint wheel and opening the lid to ignite the flame! Aesthetic Details and Design Main surfaces: Features exquisite hand-engraving with a geometric grid pattern (*quadrillage*), framed by garlands of floral motifs. Top section: An elegant finish with a fine *guilloché* texture, featuring horizontal side slots to provide airflow for the flame. Authentic patina: The piece retains a superb original patina that confirms its age and authenticity (it can be polished to a mirror-like shine, depending on the buyer's preference). Technical Condition and Specifications Fuel type: Lighter fluid (naphtha/petrol). Mechanism: Complete and original, with all components intact (snuffer lid, burner, guides). The telescopic sliding action functions perfectly. IMPORTANT: The lighter is sold empty—WITHOUT FUEL—for safety reasons regarding transport and storage. Requires refilling and, optionally, a new flint to be put back into working order. An ideal decorative piece for an elegant office, a distinctive gift for smokers, or a valuable item for collectors of vintage or Art Deco smoking accessories.
