Mad Bear Gothic – ArtBrut by Ann Introducing “Mad Bear Gothic” – a striking sculpture that stands as an extraordinary example of Gothic Pop Art, combining handcrafted sculptural form with a dark, expressive, yet luxurious aesthetic. This piece is an exceptional offering for contemporary art collectors and enthusiasts of bold, unconventional design. The surface of the bear features a rich, multi-layered graphic collage: Dark Symbolism: Intricately integrated motifs of skulls, skeletons, snakes, and Sacred-Heart imagery Contrast & Irony: Dark Gothic iconography contrasted with vivid Pop Art colors, skeleton figures wearing hats, and decorative typography Modern Luxury: A unique balance between darkness, irony, and contemporary fashion aesthetics 100% Hand-Made in Poland The sculpture is created entirely by hand from scratch in my studio in Poland. Each piece undergoes a detailed, time-intensive artisanal process: Hand-casting from a custom mold Precise sanding and smoothing of the surface Application of primer and base coat Hand-application of an intricate graphic collage featuring skulls, snakes, and Pop Art details High-gloss lacquering – multiple protective coats of crystal-clear varnish delivering a glass-like finish, enhanced color depth, and long-lasting protection Due to the handcrafted process, subtle variations in graphic placement and surface finish make every single sculpture truly one of a kind.
