Product Description
This is a cast copper single-stem vase (ikebana vase) crafted in the traditional craft of "Takaoka Copperware," made in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. It features a slightly multifaceted, rounded body that extends into a slender neck, flowing gently outward into a widened mouth. The surface is finished in a copper-gold coloration, blending reddish-orange tones with hues reminiscent of verdigris. This finish has been applied to the cast copper and brass-based alloy using the traditional "coloring" (chakushoku) technique.
No stamp or marking is found on the base; this is an unsigned work.
The bottle-shaped form and warm metallic tones make it a highly versatile design that works beautifully not only as a single-stem vase, but also as an interior accent in both Japanese and Western-style rooms.
