Elegant antique picture frame dating from approximately the late 19th to early 20th century, executed in the Rococo Revival / Louis XV Revival style.

The frame features elaborate openwork decoration with scrolling acanthus leaves, floral motifs and a prominent ornamental crest. The rectangular inner frame is finished with a finely detailed beaded border.

The metal has developed an attractive aged patina, with darker recessed areas contrasting beautifully with the warm brass/bronze-coloured highlights.

Accompanied by its separate decorative easel stand, which bears the stamped number “25”. No identifiable maker’s signature has been found.

Approximate overall dimensions: 35 × 35 cm. Please see the photographs with measuring tape for additional reference.

The frame is offered without glass, photograph/artwork or rear backing.

Good antique condition with visible signs of age and use, including patina, oxidation, surface wear and variations to the original finish. These have deliberately not been removed in order to preserve the character of the piece.

A highly decorative antique object suitable for displaying a portrait, photograph, miniature painting or print, and an attractive addition to a classical, Rococo, Baroque or eclectic interior.

Please examine all photographs carefully. They form an integral part of the description and clearly show the condition, construction, measurements and decorative details of the piece.
