鈴木表朔 / Suzuki Hyōsaku - 托盘 - 带稻穗蒔絵装饰的漆碗 - 木, 漆

Good condition. Description: This is a refined Japanese lacquer vessel by 鈴木表朔 / Suzuki Hyōsaku, decorated with an elegant rice plant motif. The piece has a low, round form with straight sides, a deep reddish-brown lacquer exterior, and a glossy black lacquer interior. The inside is beautifully decorated with maki-e-style rice ears and long grass leaves. The golden rice clusters stand out vividly against the black lacquer ground, while the silver-toned leaves create a graceful sense of movement across the interior surface. The design is seasonal and auspicious, suggesting harvest, abundance, and quiet autumn elegance. The exterior is more restrained, finished in a warm red-brown lacquer with a subtle faceted or segmented surface, giving the vessel depth and rhythm without distracting from the interior decoration. The contrast between the dark interior, gold decoration, and reddish exterior gives the piece a refined tea-ceremony atmosphere. Suzuki Hyōsaku is associated with Japanese lacquer craftsmanship, especially elegant lacquer works connected to tea utensils and traditional display objects. This piece would be suitable as a decorative lacquer bowl, sweets vessel, tea-related utensil, or display object. Artist: Suzuki Hyōsaku 鈴木表朔 is the name of an important Kyoto lacquerware lineage associated with Kyō-nuri / Kyoto lacquer and refined tea-related lacquer objects. The first-generation Suzuki Hyōsaku, Suzuki Hyōsaku I, 1874–1943, was a noted lacquer artist active from the Meiji to early Shōwa period, and his works are held by the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto. The name was continued by later generations, especially Suzuki Hyōsaku II, 1905–1991, who produced lacquer works in the early Shōwa period and is also represented in the Kyoto museum collection. The third generation, Suzuki Hyōsaku III, 1932–2013, was known as a representative Kyoto lacquer artist who worked on traditional vessels and tea utensils while also exploring more modern expressions.
