A stylized letter "C," enclosed within a square with slightly rounded corners—imprinted directly onto the stem—serves as the trademark of the renowned American pipe company, E.A. Carey. The internal system (within the black stem) is, in fact, Carey’s patented "Magic Inch" system. This design allows cool air to enter and mix with the smoke, reducing condensation and ensuring a very smooth smoking experience.
