Elegant Natural Candy Coloured, 9-10mm big Edison Pearl bracelet. Length: 19.5cm, width: 1cm. Gold tone metal toggle clasp with a heart accent. Edison pearls are large, bead-nucleated freshwater cultured pearls grown in China that rival the size, luster, and quality of expensive saltwater pearls like South Sea and Tahitian varieties. Key Characteristics • Size: They are significantly larger than traditional freshwater pearls, typically measuring between 11mm and 16mm, with some reaching up to 20mm. • Cultivation Method: Unlike standard freshwater pearls (which are tissue-nucleated and produce multiple small pearls per mussel), Edison pearls are bead-nucleated with a single round bead per freshwater mussel (such as the Hyriopsis cumingii). This forces the mussel to focus its energy on growing one large, thick-nacre gem. • Colours & Luster: They feature an intense, mirror-like metallic luster and come in a wide natural and enhanced spectrum—including vibrant purples, violets, magentas, metallic blues, peaches, and champagnes. • Shapes: They can be nearly round, oval, or abstract/baroque. • Origin & Name: Developed in China and commercialized around 2014, they were named after inventor Thomas Edison, honoring his famous quote that diamonds and pearls could not be made artificially (though Edison pearls are genuine cultured pearls, * NO SHIPPING TO THE USA* Please note the sizes of the item listed and the description, photos are not the actual size of the item.
