A tall, double-sided tsuitate 衝立 (standing screen), set within a red and black frame in the Negoro lacquer style 根来塗 (Negoro-nuri). One side depicts a brown stag and a white deer among arching grasses on darkened paper. The reverse shows a pheasant perched on a pine branch against a gold-leaf ground with an attractive aged patina. Period: Japan – paintings from first half Edo period (17th–18th century). Dimensions: Height 141.5 cm, width 92.5 cm, depth 31.7 cm. In very good restored condition, with signs of age and restorations. Please refer to the photographs for a clear condition reference.
