It is an absolute work of art and a historical treasure. These trunks were launched by Louis Vuitton himself to cater to world travellers going on oversees trips to for eg; India and Africa. They were produced with locks which closed the trunks hermetically. Moreover these trunks are very sturdy and build to keep moist, insects and other rodents out. This trunk in particular has a large format and is highly collectable. According to my believe the trunk dates between 1889 and 1896. There are some flaws to be discovered (please watch the images carefully). Please be aware that the trunk is 19th century and not between 1900-2000 as selected in the lot description.
