Very rare early map of Asia made by the French cartographer Tassin. Published in Paris by Berey in 1651 in ´Carte generalle de la géographie royale...´.
It shows some remarkable things, like the Korean Peninsula as an island, a very rudimentary shape of Japan and part of the coast of North America.
The map served as basis for the work of N. Sanson.
Very few examples known of this version of the map.
Good condition. Original colours. Very rare.
