This meteorite, found in 2023 in Mauritania, belongs to the category of achondrites known as HED meteorites originating from the asteroid Vesta; in this case, it is a eucrite. Vesta is the second-heaviest asteroid (planetoid) in the solar system and, under favorable conditions, can even be seen from Earth with the naked eye.Its complex structure reflects the impacts that shaped Vesta.
