For many years, this casketed limited edition was looking for the perfect barrel for the maturing of the Monkey 47 Barrel Cut. Ultimately, the choice fell on barrels made from the wood of the rare mulberry tree. The barrels from the Südwestpfalz were specially made for this purpose and, as is customary traditionally, toasted from the inside. The Monkey 47 Barrel Cut was then stored and aged in these barrels in an old granary from 1840 under constant climatic conditions. This unique ripening in the intensely fragrant wood of the mulberry tree gives the Monkey 47 Barrel Cut its unique character, characterized by a rich variety of woody notes. Likewise, the Monkey 47 Barrel Cut gets its deep, golden yellow color. The aroma initially shows the intensely fragrant notes of mulberry wood combined with other hints of wood and mild roasted aromas.
