This is a silver enameled snuffbox. Snuffboxes were popular between the 18th and 19th centuries and were used to hold snuff. The snuffbox is oval in shape and features a cobalt blue enamel decoration. The lid is adorned with an enamel painting depicting a romantic or mythological scene.
