A fine bronze signet ring featuring an oval bezel engraved with a central Arabic inscription, framed by decorative diagonal hatch motifs. The calligraphic engraving appears to be a stylized personal name or blessing, typical of rings worn throughout the Islamic world for identity, devotion, or protection.
The ring is cast in solid bronze with a thick, tapering band and a flat, defined bezel surface designed for sealing clay or wax. Signet rings of this type were commonly used by literate individuals, merchants, officials, and those of social rank during the Umayyad, Abbasid, and later Seljuk periods.
Arabic-inscribed rings were often believed to carry protective or spiritual power, especially if they contained a personal name invoking the name of God or a short benediction. The surrounding linear decoration provides symmetry and emphasis on the sacred central inscription.
PS: This ring represents both personal identity and spiritual confidence within the Islamic world. It is a desirable piece for collectors of Islamic art, signet rings, ancient jewellery, and early calligraphic inscriptions.
