Polychromed Wood Figure of a Monk or Deacon Spain, circa 1600 Carved and polychromed wood with traces of gilding. Height: ca. 78 cm. A serene figure of a youthful cleric, depicted standing with one hand placed upon his chest in a gesture of devotion. The tonsure and long red robe with gilded decorative panels suggest that the figure may represent a monk or deacon. In fairly good condition, part of the left arm missing.
