This inkstone box dates back to the late Edo period to the early Meiji period. It depicts a bridge over a shallow river, flowers, and butterflies. The bridge's plank grain is beautifully expressed using gold and silver maki-e (lacquerware). It has been kept in very good condition. There are a few small marks on the surface. Please forgive these as this is a very old item. It is still in good condition and can be used as an inkstone box.
