Muhammed inn Muhammad Hasan al-Tabrizi - Quran - 1559

A single miniature folio from a Qur'an scribed in 1559 by Muhammed inn Muhammad Hasan. The folio contains scripture from Meccan Chapter 40, Ghafir (The Forgiver) v.60-66. These verses emphasize God's sovereignty as the sole Creator and the importance of monotheistic worship through prayer (dua). The passages warn against arrogance and associating partners with Allah, commanding the Prophet Muhammad to affirm his submission to the Lord of all worlds. Verse 60: Allah says: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you". This verse highlights the accessibility of God to His servants through supplication (dua) and promises a response. It also warns that those who are too proud to worship Him will enter Hell in humiliation. The Prophet Muhammad stated that "Supplication is indeed worship," indicating its supreme importance in a believer's life. Verse 61: This verse points to Allah's blessings in creating the night for rest and the day for visibility. It serves as a sign (ayat) of His bounty upon people, most of whom are ungrateful. The orderly alternation of night and day is a proof of His sole authority and wisdom in managing the universe. Verse 62: This verse reaffirms that the being who controls these universal systems is Allah, the Lord and Creator of everything. It challenges those who turn away from this truth, asking how they can be deluded from acknowledging Him as the only God worthy of worship. Verse 63: It states that only those who previously denied Allah's signs were thus led astray. This indicates that the truth is clear for those who observe the world around them, but denial hardens hearts and leads people into error. Verse 64: Allah is the one who made the earth a stable dwelling place and the sky a protective canopy. He shaped humans and perfected their forms, providing them with good and pure sustenance. The verse concludes by stating that this Lord is Allah, the Lord of all worlds, emphasizing His sole dominion. Verse 65: He is the Ever-Living, the one who possesses eternal existence. There is no deity except Him, so believers are commanded to call upon Him with sincere devotion, offering all praise to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Verse 66: Prophet Muhammad is commanded to declare that he has been forbidden from worshipping any false gods that the disbelievers call upon besides Allah. This verse draws a clear distinction between monotheism (Tawhid) and idolatry, with the Prophet commanded to fully submit (Islam) to the Lord of the World The folio's small size indicates it would have been a travelling Koran for personal use. It consists of 17 lines of fine naskh script with diacritical markings in red offering devotional guidance, with gold 'aya' (verse divisions) in free hand, each with a central red marking and 5 radial markings in faded blue on the circumference. The frame consists of two inner gold columns seprated by a thin red frame line and an outer blue frame line completing the framing. There are two marginal roundels, upper left and lower left of the scripture which indicate verses 60 and 65 respectively. Although small this is a really fine folio in a well educated hand and in good condition Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself.
