A tall and elegant ceramic candle holder, a genuine piece of Dutch Art Nouveau (Nieuwe Kunst) design from the early 20th century (c. 1905–1920). This striking decorative column was produced by the highly distinguished Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (PZH) in Gouda, The Netherlands. The piece features a slender, elongated cylindrical body rising from a broad, integrated circular base, culminating in an elegant socket. The artistry is displayed in the hand-painted decor, which features muted tones of olive-green, soft yellow, and delicate rose/pink accents on a creme background. Stylized floral and vine motifs flow vertically across the piece, beautifully complementing the verticality of the structure. The base bears the authentic PZH crowned gate mark and is marked A.L.
