Magnificent Art Deco porcelain figurine depicting a nude “Dancer with Draperie”, 1930’s great creation of the famous Hungarian sculptor Elek Lux (1884-1941) for Herend Porcelain Manufactory - Hungary, in perfect condition. It depicts a glamours dancing act of a nude woman standing in a perfect equilibrium on one feet. Graciously, a pale blue veil is twisted around her body in a gentle flow. Lux Elek (1884 -1941), played a significant role in the Hungarian sculpture of the first half of the 20th century. "He was a sculptor of traditional beauty," Ybl Ervin wrote about him in 1941. He created mostly portraits and delicately shaped female nudes. It is excellent more to pristine condition, beautifully sculpted and glazed, hand painted to perfection, marked accordingly with Herend blue shield mark of the period and # 5735 numbered, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
