Boris Tabacoff — Sphere Chair (c. 1968–1970)
A rare piece designed for the French manufacturer M.M.M. (Mobilier Modulaire Moderne). An iconic chair with a futuristic silhouette, featuring a smoked plexiglass shell mounted on the characteristic chrome circular base. A true collectible and a highlight of French modernist design from the 1970s.
Materials: smoked plexiglass, chrome-plated steel frame, loose cushion in light leatherette/fabric.
Typical dimensions: approx. H 75 cm, W 60 cm, D 60 cm (I can add exact ones if needed).
Condition
Vintage condition:
– plexiglass shell with visible marks of use
– chrome base with rust and wear
– cushion with stains, aging and foam deterioration; requires replacement or restoration
Structurally stable, excellent candidate for refurbishment.
