A rare and collectible lot of two signed and limited first editions by Kostis Bastias and Costas Taktsis (Tachtsis), two of the most important yet very different representatives of modern Greek prose. 1. Μηνάς ο Ρέμπελος, Κουρσάρος στο Αιγαίο (Minas the Rebel, Corsair in the Aegean) – Kostis Bastias Publisher: Pyrsos, Athens, 1939 Edition: First, numbered and limited to 1/30, here Nr. 7 – Hand-signed and dedicated by the author Pages: 346 | Dimensions: 18.3 cm × 13 cm Condition: Good vintage condition This historical novel marked the beginning of Bastias’s trilogy on Orthodoxy, later followed by Papoulakos and Papadiamantis. In 1940, composer Manolis Kalomiris adapted the work into a symphonic poem of the same name, further enhancing its cultural significance. 2.
