J. Howell & Co. Ltd 手杖 - .925 银 - 伦敦 1935

Antique Walking Cane – J. Howell & Co. Ltd, London 1935 – Silver Mounted with Stag Antler Handle An elegant English walking cane made in 1935 by J. Howell & Co. Ltd of London. Crafted in the classic interwar British gentleman’s style, it features a naturally textured stag antler handle with warm colouring and a comfortable, traditional form. Beneath the handle sits a sterling silver collar, fully hallmarked for London 1935 and stamped with the maker’s mark of J. Howell & Co. Ltd. The collar is decorated with scrolling foliate engraving and an engraved monogram cartouche, with a few light age-related dents present on the silver. The shaft is made of malacca cane, recognised by its rich reddish-brown tone and characteristic mottled surface. Malacca was widely regarded as the finest material for gentleman’s walking sticks due to its combination of strength, flexibility and lightness. The cane shows an attractive natural patina from age and use. The tip is without a ferrule. This is an authentic and well-preserved example of an interwar British walking cane, combining malacca cane, stag antler and London silverwork in a refined period piece.
