Ancient Greek Silver Tetradrachm of Alexander the Great (336–323 BC) – Mounted in Sterling Silver Pendant with Chain – 20.3 g total (coin Approx. c. 17 g) – 43 cm chain
A superb ancient Greek silver tetradrachm of Alexander III “the Great”, struck circa 323–280 BC, mounted in a modern sterling silver bezel and accompanied by a 43 cm sterling silver chain.
This exceptional specimen displays excellent detail on both sides and a natural antique tone, elegantly complemented by the fine modern silver mount.
Obverse:
Head of Heracles (Hercules) facing right, wearing the lion-skin headdress of the Nemean lion — a powerful emblem of strength and Alexander’s divine ancestry from Zeus through Heracles.
Reverse:
Zeus enthroned left, holding an eagle in his right hand and sceptre in his left. Greek legend “ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ” (ALEXANDROU) vertically to the right.
