If an item exceeds the specified size or weight, it may be shipped in multiple packages. ----- Signed Moriya Kazuo (1928-2019) He was born on September 4, 1928 (Showa 3) in Torimachi 7, Iwadeyama Town, Tamatsukuri District, Miyagi Prefecture, as the fourth son of the farming couple Heizaburō and Toyo Moriya. He was a nephew of Kiku-e, the wife of Naruko craftsman Takahashi Mori. He graduated from Iwadeyama Elementary School in March 1943 (Showa 18). From November 1949 (Showa 24), he trained in Naruko under Takahashi Mori and Takahashi Morio, completing his apprenticeship in November 1952 (Showa 27), after which he worked as an artisan at Mori’s workshop, Takakan. Shigeru Takishima was his junior apprentice. He became independent on February 20, 1961 (Showa 36), opening his own workshop in Nakano, Ōguchi, Naruko Town, and later moved to Iwadeyama Ikezuki in Ōsaki City, where he continued making kokeshi dolls.
