日本佛像 - 木 - 1910-1920, 1920-1930, 1930-1940 - Amida Nyorai Zushi 21cm

阿弥陀如来 Amida Nyorai (Amitābha) Wooden Statue Sculpture in Zushi / Gilt lacquered Miniature Shrine with Double Doors Amida Nyorai (Amitābha) is a Buddha who saves all living things. Gohonzon of more than half of all temples in Japan is Amida Nyorai a very important Buddha in Buddhism. Zushi "Buddhist altar", sometimes spelled Butsudan, is a small type of shrine or temple commonly found in temples and homes in Japanese Buddhist cultures. A charming and compact wooden zushi (portable Buddhist shrine) featuring a seated figure of Amida Nyorai, the Buddha of Infinite Light and Compassion. This type of devotional object was commonly kept in private homes or carried during travel, reflecting the intimate role of Buddhist practice in everyday life during the late Meiji to early Showa period. The figure is seated in meditation on a lotus pedestal, enclosed within a gilded interior and framed by a stylized mandorla. The cabinet doors open to reveal the sacred space, while the exterior shows natural signs of age and use. Measuring 21 cm in height, the piece is modest in scale yet rich in spiritual presence. Crafted between 1910 and 1940, this zushi embodies the blend of folk devotion and refined craftsmanship typical of the period. Its approachable size and warm patina make it both a collectible artifact and a window into the lived religious culture of early 20th-century Japan. A meaningful piece for collectors of Buddhist art, folk religious objects, and Japanese cultural heritage. Dimension of Altar: 3.7" x 2.6" x 8.4" / 9.5cm x 6.8cm x 21.5cm Material: Wood Weight: 300g Condition Antique items have originally crease, stain, damage, and more.
