Large pastel colored cachepot by the ceramist Delphin Massier. It was made in Vallauris, France around the year 1900. Delphin Honoré Massier (1836-1907) was born into the Massier pottery dynasty in Vallauris. His brother Clément was also an important ceramist. The Jardinière shows an Art Nouveau depiction of a sleeping woman surrounded by poppies in green, pink and beige colours. It is signed on the bottom. The cachepot was broken in two parts and glued together with a natural glue (not professionally). There are chips around the fracture.
