Within the wider series Unlearning Distance, this work investigates the borders we hold—physical, emotional, and imagined—and the quiet negotiation involved in letting someone cross them. Here, the figure is distilled into essential lines: decisive strokes of deep blue carving out torso and limb against a raw canvas that feels like untouched terrain. The contrast between the unpainted surface and the vivid blue introduces the idea of boundary and passage—the body as landscape, the blue as a crossing point. Despite its minimalism, the composition carries tension: the shapes feel close but not touching, near yet separated by a sliver of space.
