This is a beautiful nicely preserved Ordovician aged starfish of the genus Petraster sp. It comes from the Tioririne Formation near Kaid Errami, South Morocco. The specimen shows an amazing amount of detail and the natural, orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron suldide (pyrite). Observations: It has a fracture that has been glued, and one of its arms is not well preserved. However, the rest of the specimen is remarkably well preserved.
