She studied printmaking at Tama Art University in Tokyo, one of Japan's leading institutions for fine arts, and developed a highly recognisable visual language based on rhythm, repetition, and the subtle interplay of shadow and light. Hidaka's works often focus on textile-like patterns, geometric structures, and soft, floating surfaces that evoke movement and stillness at the same time. Her prints are created through meticulous hand-engraving and plate-wiping techniques, giving each work a delicate texture and tonal depth. Since the 1980s, Hidaka has exhibited extensively in Japan, Europe, and the United States, and her prints are represented in several museum and institutional collections.
