Chinesco style is associated to the Western Mexico shaft tomb tradition and was named after the Chinese-like appearance of the figurines found in the excavations. This style is notable for smooth burnished surfaces and painted ornaments. Grave goods within these tombs include hollow ceramic figures, such as this one. This figure represents a seated woman, her legs are extended, and her arms are resting on her chest. Her entire body is coated with a dark red engobe, and a beige cream engobe underlines decorative body paint around her hips and on her shoulders. She also has two painted necklaces, earrings, and a nose ring. Incised lines represent the hair. She has the characteristic puffy slit-like eyes of Chinesco style.
