An emotionally charged composition depicting the Lamentation of Christ, featuring, among others, the Virgin Mary, Saint John, Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus and Mary Magdalene holding her jar of perfume. In the background, in the distance, the site of the Crucifixion on Golgotha Hill with the cross of Christ and the crosses of the thieves.
