Through careful firing at 800 °C, the porcelain acquires a mirror-smooth surface and becomes extremely durable, preventing cracks or hairline fractures. In traditional porcelain painting, each figurine is decorated by hand with cheerful colors using a brush rather than standardized film coatings. Every figurine is therefore slightly different and uniquely distinctive. Massimo Giacon: Massimo Giacon, born in 1961 in Padua, is a comic artist and illustrator and is regarded as a pioneer in revitalizing the Italian comic scene. He divides his time between work as a graphic designer, artist, designer, and musician. LPWK – Laura Polinoro: Laura Polinoro, born in Bergamo, studied art and communication at DAMS in Bologna. She initially worked in contemporary dance, focusing on artistic coordination, costumes, and stage design. She then worked as a researcher at the Domus Academy in Milan. From 1990 to 1998 she directed the Alessi Study Center, where she coordinated workshops as a meta-designer and art director both within the company and in collaboration with universities and design centers worldwide. During this time, she developed numerous editorial and communication projects.
