The composition shows cavalry officers riding in formation with the rising-sun regimental flags, accompanied by troops and colour guards, while government officials stand in formal greeting before the gate of a prominent building adorned with flags. Published by 松成蛍郎 (Matsunari Hotarō, also known as Suharaya), the work combines the dynamism of a news illustration with the bold colours and composition characteristic of Meiji-era sensō-e, war prints. The print employs urushi-e (lacquer-picture) effects on the black areas of the uniforms, adding depth and subtle sheen despite the minor printing imperfections typical of some Meiji impressions. All three sheets each have a small hole at one corner. Minor foxing, light blemishes, and small creases to edges and corners are present, along with a faint aged paper odour. Please refer to the photographs for further details. Dimensions of a print: approx. H 37.5 cm W 25 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos.
