复古日本羽织夹克,配有相扑选手丝绸内衬——棕色ひげ紬 - 真丝 - 日本 - Shōwa period (1926-1989)

This is a rare vintage Japanese Haori jacket made of Hige Tsumugi (Bearded Tsumugi), a traditional Japanese silk textile known for its distinctive surface texture created by intentionally leaving short silk fibers exposed on the fabric. Origin and Characteristics of Hige Tsumugi Hige Tsumugi originally derives its name from “Ami-ito Tsumugi”, a textile traditionally woven using threads unraveled from old fishing nets from Lake Biwa. The term “hige” (meaning “beard”) comes from its distinctive appearance, where short strands of yarn protrude from the fabric surface like tiny whiskers. Unique Texture: Fine yarn ends, approximately 1 to 1.5 cm in length, intentionally extend from the surface, creating a tactile, three-dimensional texture that invites touch. This irregular yet refined surface is the defining charm of authentic Hige Tsumugi. Hige Tsumugi is highly valued for: Its unique rough and organic texture The expressive surface created by protruding silk fibers And the advanced craftsmanship required to control the balance of the fibers The lining features a charming and powerful sumo wrestler motif, symbolizing strength and vitality in Japanese culture. This contrast between the calm, earthy exterior and the dynamic interior design is a classic aesthetic of refined Japanese menswear. The lining is made of silk, using a traditional dyeing technique (not hand-painted). Such hidden decorative linings were especially popular among stylish gentlemen in Japan. This piece is highly suitable for: Collectors of Japanese textiles Sumo & traditional culture enthusiasts Interior display, fashion styling, and stage costume use Length: 81 cm Sleeve to sleeve: 133 cm Waist width (laid flat): 61 cm Recommended height Haori length 81 cm → suitable for approx. 160–170 cm tall. Please note: In traditional Japanese style, the hem reaches the hips, but overseas it is also fashionable to wear it slightly shorter. Outer material: Silk (Hige Tsumugi) Lining: Silk Himo (cord): Original attached Good vintage condition. There are small signs of age consistent with antique textiles, but no major damage. The characteristic raised silk fibers of Hige Tsumugi are part of the original texture, not deterioration. Please carefully review the photos.
