Crafted by Goebel Hummel in Germany, designed by Sister M.I.Hummel. The attention to detail on these sweet porcelain children is what makes Hummel popular year after year. These vintage figurines make a great gift for a Hummel collector. The School Boy was first issued in 1938, but this model (Backstamp: 82 2/0 - Hummel Model Number, the size indicator, and the year of release), was produced in 1960. The School Girl (Backstamp: 81 2/0) is from the same date. The backstamp on both of these incorporates the stylized bee of the brand but adds lines of text (the letter "V" and "W. Germany") that dates it between 1960 and 1972. This backstamp is sometimes called the Three Line Mark and is TMK-4.
