A rare mochica bichrome pottery "florero vessel". The inside decorated with prisoners with ropes tied to necks walking into a desert landscape with cactus. The outside decorated with plants, another prisoner and the figure of a priest with a ceremonial tumi from which a serpent is born, situated next to a large mythological serpent. The piece has a hollow pedestal base with a few small openings, filled with ceramic pellets that make a ratting sound when the vessel is shaken. Includes thermoluminescence certificate. Moche.
