Born in 1927 in a pottery workshop in Akazu, Seto City, Aichi Prefecture. In 1997, he was recognized as a holder of the "Iron Glaze Technique of Pottery," an intangible cultural property designated by Seto City. While drawing on the tradition of "Koseto," he has established a modern style that incorporates his own unique "blue glaze" and "gold leaf" techniques. In addition to the typical green "Ao Oribe," they also produce many tea bowls and flower vases in "Kuro Oribe," which uses iron glaze. Oribe ware has the following characteristics.
