中國古代 来自中国的古董传统中国婴儿帽/儿童帽 (沒有保留價)

Traditional antique Chinese baby hat/children's cap from China - probably from the Miao minority in the 20th century. This is a magnificent old silk embroidered, handmade, and hand-sewn Chinese baby cap from China. This cap is very rare and is in (very) good condition (see photos). I bought this baby hat/children's cap during my China trip as a Sinologist in 1986 in an Antique shop in China. Traditionally, Chinese children wore different styles from childhood to adolescence. As babies, the caps were worn to protect them from evil spirits. As the child grows older, the caps are worn to bring good luck and success for the future. Making an elaborately decorated cap for a child was also a way of symbolically giving a child good wishes and moral lessons. Caps depicting animals, such as tigers, are said to protect babies by warding off evil. The Miao minority was one of the largest minorities in China. They numbered around 9 million people, who lived spread across a very large area of the country.
The clothing of the Miao varied from region to region.
The Miao had a variety of traditional headdresses.
