*Radiance Level Disclaimer*
At GeoPulse Minerals, we use our own internal classification system to evaluate the light performance of Mexican Fire Opals.
This system is based exclusively on the intensity, stability and chromatic strength of the fire, play of colour, displayed by each specimen, as follows:
Radiance Level I – Soft Glow
Gentle internal light with delicate colour movement.
Radiance Level II – Bright Glow
Noticeable radiance with stable brightness and defined flashes.
Radiance Level III – Intense Radiance
Strong, vivid fire with powerful colour response from multiple angles.
Radiance Level IV – Flame Radiance
Top tier. Maximum intensity, highly saturated flame like play of colour and exceptional optical behaviour.
This scale allows collectors to immediately understand the visual strength and rarity category of each opal we present.

Radiance Level IV - *FLAME RADIANCE*
Description:
Emerging from the volcanic terrain of Magdalena in Jalisco, this Mexican Fire Opal presents a striking contrast between restraint and intensity. Its soft white host envelops the specimen like a mineral shell, calm and understated, allowing the interior to command full attention. Within this pale exterior lies a radiant core where colour gathers with remarkable concentration, forming a vivid internal heart that feels suspended within the stone rather than simply embedded in it.
Under frontal light, the opal displays a powerful internal presence. Reds dominate the centre, dense and saturated, edged by glowing transitions of orange and ember tones that appear to pool beneath the surface. The fire is not dispersed throughout the stone but deliberately contained, giving the specimen a focused visual identity. The surrounding white body acts as a natural frame, heightening the perception of depth and isolating the chromatic core with striking clarity.
When illuminated from behind, the transformation is dramatic. The interior ignites into a luminous chamber, as if light were revealing the energetic core of a forming world. The central fire becomes incandescent, radiating outward in layered waves of orange and gold while the outer body remains softly opaque, reinforcing the impression of an inner source of power contained within a stable shell. This backlit behaviour places the opal firmly within the highest tier of Flame Radiance specimens.
The internal architecture shows natural boundaries and flowing contours rather than chaotic fragmentation. Light travels through the fire zones with continuity, creating a sense of volume and motion that feels organic and intentional. This is not an opal that merely reflects light, but one that seems to generate it from within.
Balanced, expressive and visually commanding, this specimen exemplifies the dramatic potential of Mexican Fire Opal when strong chromatic concentration meets refined natural contrast.

Collector’s Interest:
Mexican Fire Opals combining a pale host with an intensely luminous internal core are among the most visually striking expressions of this material. The controlled concentration of colour, paired with dramatic backlit performance, places this specimen in a category favoured by advanced collectors seeking strong contrast, geological authenticity and unmistakable optical impact. Its Flame Radiance classification reflects both rarity and performance.
Lapidary Interest:
While outstanding as a collector specimen, this opal also offers compelling possibilities for jewellery designs that allow light to pass through the stone. Open settings would activate its internal fire dramatically, transforming it into a living focal element. Any lapidary application should preserve the relationship between the white host and the radiant core, which defines the specimen’s character.

Photography and transparency:
All photos were taken under controlled light conditions, carefully selected to reproduce the most accurate natural colour of each specimen. No filters, colour enhancement, or artificial saturation were applied. The lighting setup uses a calibrated 5500K light source, which replicates neutral daylight and reveals the true tones and clarity of the mineral. Under weaker or more yellow indoor lighting, colours may appear slightly different, which is normal and expected. The purpose of this setup is to present each specimen exactly as it appears in balanced natural daylight, allowing buyers to appreciate its authentic colour and lustre without distortion.
Identification and ethics:
All specimens offered are guaranteed natural and as described. Their origin and mineral identification are provided with the most accurate and reliable information available. Every effort is made to ensure that each piece is presented with full transparency, avoiding any misleading details regarding its nature, treatment, or provenance.
Shipping and handling:
Orders are carefully prepared, with each stone individually protected and placed in a secure rigid box to ensure safe delivery. Shipments are made within 1 to 3 business days after payment confirmation, always with a tracking number provided to the buyer. Each order is handled with professional care from selection to dispatch, ensuring a smooth and trustworthy process.
Customs and import taxes:
Any customs duties, import fees, or local taxes applied by the destination country are entirely the responsibility of the winning bidder. These charges are not included in the auction price or shipping cost and are determined by the buyer’s local authorities.
Guarantee and resolution:
Customer satisfaction is a priority. In the event of any issue, such as loss, damage, or discrepancy, please contact us immediately through Catawiki’s messaging system. We will always find a fair and suitable solution, including refund, replacement, or other commercial arrangements whenever justified.
