日本茶碗,浅白色信乐风格的瓷器,签名箱,昭和时期 - 石器, 陶瓷 - 日本 - 昭和年代(1926-1989)

This is a Japanese chawan (tea bowl) made of high-fired stoneware, intended for use in the traditional tea ceremony. The bowl has a gently rounded form with a slightly widening rim, offering a comfortable and balanced feel in the hands, well suited for preparing and appreciating matcha. The surface displays a soft, pale glaze in warm ivory and light peach tones, with natural variations, kiln freckles, and subtle fire marks. These effects are characteristic of Shino-style and Shino-influenced wares, emphasizing earthiness, warmth, and the wabi-sabi aesthetic. The interior glaze pools gently toward the center, creating depth and visual calm when viewed from above. The foot is neatly finished, revealing the clay body and firing marks. A potter’s impressed seal is visible on the base, indicating authorship or workshop origin. While the exact artist has not been conclusively identified, the presence of this seal supports attribution to a professional studio potter. The tea bowl is accompanied by its original wooden storage box (tomobako) with handwritten ink inscriptions and red seal impressions. The calligraphy identifies the object as a tea bowl and is consistent with boxes prepared or approved by the artist or their studio, enhancing authenticity and collectability. Based on the ceramic style, glaze character, seal, and boxed presentation, this piece is attributable to the Showa period (mid-20th century). Dimensions (approximate): – Diameter: about 11–12 cm – Height: about 7.5–8 cm Condition is good. No cracks or repairs observed. Minor surface irregularities and firing variations are inherent to the ceramic process and are considered part of the aesthetic character.
