Set of 4 Thai Gilt Bronze celestial deity - 雕刻 - 泰國

Set of Thai gilt bronze sculptures depicting celestial musicians (Deva / Thep) in traditional court attire. The figures are shown kneeling in classical Thai posture, playing traditional musical instruments such as khlui flute and stringed lute, symbols of harmony, spirituality and divine music. Material: bronze or brass with applied gilt Dimensions: approx. 10.5 × 8 × 5 cm Weight: approx. 0.8 kg The sculptures are cast in bronze or brass and finished with applied gilt, with natural green patina visible on the surface. The refined details of the garments, jewellery and pointed chada crowns are characteristic of Thai decorative art inspired by classical court and temple iconography. These figures were produced as high-quality decorative artworks, not as ritual or temple objects, and reflect the Rattanakosin / Ayutthaya revival style popular in Thailand during the late 20th century. A visually impressive and harmonious set, ideal for collectors of Asian art or interior decoration. The large central sculpture depicts a celestial female deity (apsara / thep) shown in a reverent posture with hands joined in anjali mudra, a gesture of respect, devotion and spiritual harmony in Thai and Southeast Asian iconography. The figure is cast in bronze or brass and finished with applied gilt, with a rich green patina visible throughout the surface, particularly on the face and body, indicating natural aging of the metal. She is dressed in elaborate traditional court attire, adorned with finely modelled jewellery, shoulder ornaments and armlets, and wears a tall pointed chada crown, a characteristic element of Thai classical and temple-inspired sculpture. The refined facial expression, elongated proportions and ornamental detailing are consistent with Thai decorative art influenced by classical temple and court traditions. This sculpture was produced as a high-quality decorative artwork, inspired by religious and mythological themes, rather than as an active ritual or temple object. The style reflects the Rattanakosin / Ayutthaya revival aesthetic, which became particularly popular in Thailand during the late 20th century for interior decoration and export-quality artworks. Material: bronze or brass with applied gilt Dimensions: approx. 41 × 14 × 13 cm Weight: approx. 3.8 kg Condition: very good decorative condition, with light surface wear and patina consistent with age; no visible breaks or restorations. An imposing and elegant sculpture, serving as a strong visual focal point and perfectly complementing the accompanying figures of celestial musicians.
