Pair of French Crystal & Solid Silver Liqueur Decanters – Gaston Bardés, Paris (1897–1914) – Minerva 1st Standard (950 Silver) An elegant and rare pair of French liqueur decanters, beautifully shaped in clear hand-cut crystal and mounted with solid silver necks and bases. These refined pieces were made in Paris by the silversmith Gaston Bardés, active from 1897 to 1914, whose maker’s mark (G B with a fleur-de-lys) appears clearly on the silver mounts. Both decanters carry the French hallmark Minerva 1st standard, guaranteeing 950/1000 silver purity, the highest legal fineness in France. As well base as neck. The bodies are decorated with delicate wheel-engraved foliage motifs, typical for the late 19th – early 20th century, perfectly matching the silver mounts with their intricate Art Nouveau floral band.
